Finesse of Vintage

Oh my goodness, not only have I missed some postings, but days as well, we now have only 44 days until Christmas morning dawns bright and early and yet I am still not prepared!

However, thinking of the holiday season and all of the entertaining that is pending I took stock of my drinking vessels and discovered sadly I don't have any!  That is to say, were I to offer someone a nice toddy, or a glass of the nog, I would have to serve that in a water glass, ugh!  I don't think so!

Glasses are a much needed item when entertaining so this weekend I went shopping and have since discovered I love vintage glasses with their unique style and decorations in glass!

TAKE these Vintage Thorpe glasses for example! Wouldn't a glass of eggnog look inviting? Or a beautiful rockin vodka lemonade?

You can find these at the RMandCompany shop right on Etsy!

I also found another set of Vintage glasses, retro to be sure, also with polka dots, with a bit of the amber to give it that special je ne sais  quoi!

Just visualize a beautiful ruby cranberry and vodka drink in this glass, or, how about a mulled apple cider?  Sounds delicious!
Not only are these wonderful drinking glasses, but would serve double duty for individual trifles or stacked liquor desserts!  Certainly would make the Christmas table look lovely!   I found these at the Littlemix shop!  If you hurry they'll be in time for the BIG Day!

I have a thing going on here for polka dots, because I zeroed in on these beautiful polka dot Collins glasses (another name for High Ball)    These are wonderfully slim, just perfect for a mixed drink, like a Black and Tan for the fellows or a Bay Breeze for the ladies (who doesn't like Vodka and cranberry)?   Too cool!  I actually found these at the SavvyFlair shop

This Early American Pitcher and matching glasses from the ThreeBirds Vintage Co. shop is just perfect!  Mix up a huge batch of Blueberry Vodka Spritzers and you've got a party going on!  Can you imagine the gorgeous color emanating from this set of Glassware?

Now you may want to serve a Dirty Martini or a luscious Godive Chocolate Martini, this type of  precious crystal stemware would certainly look gorgeous and serve in once again not only as something to hold a tasty drink, but on the table with a beautiful dessert!  I found these at jenscloset!  Don't you think these are absolutely perfect?

Now if you or your guests are Wine Connoisseurs these exquisite hand etched Flying Bird glasses would do justice to the Bouquet of any fine wine your serving!  I found these at Obsoletestreet, I adore this shape of glass for fine precious wines!

AND be it a Claret, which many prefer drinking throughout the Dining experience, or just with the offering of cheeses and fruits, these beautiful crystal claret glasses from Bygonera will surely set the tone!

AND just to let you know entertaining not only includes the food and drinks you serve but the finesse of your choices will enhance the ambiance of your entertaining! There is nothing finer than drinking from a good glass or taking a tasty morsel of a classy dessert from a fine piece of crystal stemware, you can't go wrong with Vintage!

These are but a few sampling's  from the Independent shop owners at Etsy, where they strive to make your shopping experience a fun thing to do without ever leaving your home for the chaos of Christmas shopping in the brick and mortar stores.
